Therapeutics
Caveo Therapeutics currently has a pipeline of receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors for the treatment of leukemias and glioblastomas as well as anti-thrombosis indications. Lead candidates were identified following in vivo preclinical studies and are currently undergoing lead optimization.
Reagents
In order to support the research community striving to better understand this important area of cancer biology, we also provide superior research reagents, antibodies to the Mer and Ron receptor tyrosine kinases.
CVO-311, CVO-312
Binding of the ligand Gas6 to the Mer receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) triggers receptor dimerization and phosphorylation, thereby regulating tyrosine kinase activity. Mer is expressed in many tissues including kidney, lung, ovary, testis, and prostate. Within hematopoietic lineages, Mer is normally expressed in macrophages, monocytes, dendritic cells and platelets and plays a significant role in macrophage clearance of apoptotic cells, platelet aggregation, and cell survival. Abnormal Mer expression is also detected in many human cancers including leukemia and lymphoma. CVO-311 (specification sheet) and CVO-312 (specification sheet) are each highly specific, murine monoclonal antibodies which recognize the extracellular domain of the human Mer RTK. These reagents are particularly suitable for western blotting applications.
CVO-500, CVO-501
Receptor tyrosine kinase RON (recepteur d'origine nantais) is primarily expressed on epithelial cells and macrophages and contributes to the malignant progression of several primary human cancers including breast and lung. In addition to ligand-dependent signaling events, RON also promotes signals in the absence of MSP, its only known ligand, when expressed in epithelial cells. Like its close relative Met, RON induces cell migration, invasion, proliferation and survival in response to its ligand. Overexpression of Ron in transgenic mice leads to tumorigenesis in both the lung and the mammary gland, and is associated with metastatic dissemination. CVO-500 (specification sheet) is a highly specific, murine monoclonal antibody to the human RON RTK, particularly suitable for flow cytometry. CVO-501 (specification sheet) is a polyclonal RON RTK antibody, particularly suited for western blotting applications.
